because there are rules such as,
-a man (other than father, husband, brother, son) cannon touch a woman.
-and like a husband must not hit his wife.
-and like a female and a male cannot date or have sexual interference with each other unless they are married
-a woman must wear a scarf so that she wouldn’t look attractive to a man to that the man can keep away from her and not flirt or rape her.
-and like the woman must wear long sleaves and not tight clothes so that a man won’t get attracted to her because of how she looks

What is abuse? I was in denial I was being abused. I internalized the things my abuser was saying. An internal war ensued where I questioned my worth but on the outside I was articulate and independent.

Shelters need to do more in the community to educate women about abuse.

I don’t have any links, just my own experiences.

Different women have different experiences, so what one feels is probably going to differ from others.
What I went through–hurt feelings, feeling like a failure, inadequit, irresponsible, no self esteem, fear,
anger, sad. Come up with an emotion or feeling and I probably felt it at one time.
When I filed for divorce, I went though even more emontions and feeling, but eventually I learned that I was a good person, better off without him, happier without him and now life is wonderful.

Chinese women speak out against abuse

Chinese-Canadian “Women Ambassadors” will mark International Women’s Day Saturday, March 8 by speaking on why they volunteered to educate others on domestic violence.

The event, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at North York Civic Centre, 5100 Yonge St., “aims to change traditional Chinese attitudes that regard domestic violence as a shameful private matter” rather than the crime it is, program hosts the Chinese Canadian National Council – Toronto Chapter said this week.

The group’s Women Ambassadors Project recruited 22 volunteers this year to teach their community about domestic violence and the justice system’s response to it in Canada.

“International Women’s Day is an excellent opportunity to share this important information and celebrate the contributions of women in the community and in supporting each other,” the organization said in a statement.

In Mandarin and English, the program includes separate talks by a police officer and a former lawyer from China, plus Meri Kahani, “an innovative play addressing the challenges faced by South Asian survivors of abuse.”

I read on google and wikipedia that pornography can have violence against women.

First I thought that pornography was just taking clothes off, making pictures, films and stuff…
And did pornography contribute to abusive relationships?
and sexual assaults?
You mean they really allow them to HURT women?
Is it for real or just acting?

I think pornography can inspire an already twisted mind or a man who’s vulnerable to become abusive.

Yes, some pornography is graphically violent towards women. Rape, being chained up and beaten…shutter.
It’s really scary to think some men find this entertaining.

Most pornography in general is demeaning to women because you rarely see the man or men working too hard to make the woman orgasm. It’s only about their pleasure and it’s kind of pathetic when there are three men and one woman and they all orgasm and she never got anywhere close to it.
And there’s hardly any tenderness or gentle caressing. From what I’ve seen the men are somewhat forceful, demanding and being kind of mean to the women but of course it shows the woman liking it.
