Why are some surprised that violence against women is taken more seriously?

March 42010

Men are far physically stronger than women. A hit from a woman can barely cause any damage while a hit from a man could seriously hurt a woman. That’s why that whole "don’t hit girls" thing came from and that’s why man on woman violence is taken more seriously than woman on man violence. Its really not that hard to figure out.

"A hit from a woman can barely cause any damage while a hit from a man could seriously hurt a woman." — Not true. I come across several women in my gym that can cause serious trauma to men if/when provoked, not to mention that the men may have to then look into adopting kids.

Is this a question or a statement??

All violence–except to defend yourself–is wrong.

Women can vary a lot in their physical strength just like men can. Not all women are weak. I’m quite capable of causing serious damage to someone else, especially if I’ve been provoked.

I disagree. Women are more likely to use an object to beat their man with, because they know they won’t do much damage with their fists. How is that any better?

Abuse is abuse, regardless of how much physical damage it causes. The mental and emotional wounds are still there.

The kind of logic displayed in your post makes me sick.

Thats why women use objects when beating their spouses.

A woman can easily pick up a knife and do just as much damage to a man as a man can to a woman…

Also, I know some women who could beat up some men. How do they factor into the equation?

And how about a 200-pound, strong, athletic male… if he got into a fight with a 5′5", 130-pound man… how is that better than fighting a 5′5", 130-pound women??

Crimes should be considered on a case-by-case scenario….

    Think.
