Do you think there should be a nationwide domestic violence registry?

Similar to the sex offender registry (accessible online)? Often times women get into abusive relationships with men who have a history of violence. Women are often shocked when they learn their abuser has a criminal past. The sad thing is that charges are usually dropped or dismissed but that doesn’t mean the person isn’t violent.
What do you think?
I totally agree with you, and it’s in the works:

Sadly, there are many registries of women who have died at the hands of an abuser:

Yes, absolutely. In fact, Patti Austin was recently interviewed by Entertainment Tonight. She clearly stated that victims of abuse tend to go back into the same darn relationships with the same darn abusive people. The cycle is hard to break for both sides.
She’s started a movement against domestic violence at http://www.pattiaustin.com/blue. As a spokesperson for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, she could help make many of these initiatives come to reality.
