I’ve lost …
I’ve lost everything at the hands of my ex. The courts natural bias towards mothers in the UK has left me without my little one. This has allowed my ex to further abuse me by using my child as a tool to hurt me with. I’ve lost my house, confidence, self respect . . . You name it ! I have nothing left – Nothing. A 15k legal bill and I now have my child two nights a week. I divorced my ex – NOT my child ! Womensaid – GO TO ! You make it all out as if it’s one way !

I wish there had …
I wish there had been help for me and my boys. It still amazes me how much she has gotten away with and not ended up with even a slap on the wrist. How would one go about setting up a safe house? What are the concerns? and how much would it cost?

I was blackmailed …
I was blackmailed with the threat of being gay bashed by a female drug addict and when I tried to report it the whole thing got turned against me. It was assumed that just because she was a girl that she was automatically a victim and since Im a man (and a minority) that Im the villian. I have been deeply traumatized by this event.

It’s sad that this …
It’s sad that this happens all the time. I’ve been stabbed with scissors and almost blinded with a belt. What’s even sadder is that even though this special brings awareness to this issue, it’s just using this issue for the “shock value” and publicity that BBC gets from focusing on a subject against the grain. Let’s watch the off-camera takes when these reporters show their true disregaurd for this subject.
Men need to speak out about their experiences for people to take it seriously.

Great to see this …
Great to see this reported. Well done the one show.

Good to see this …
Good to see this getting coverage, as male victims have even fewer resources to turn too for help and support. I see dads denied access to their own children through abuse of the family law system, which is a big example of abuse of control & power by women on men and their children. This isn’t a gender issue, its an abuse of power and position. Give a person the ability to abuse, given the right situation, they generally will. We need to avoid abuse by empowering people equally.

I was pretty …
I was pretty horrified when I told my mum about an incident in which a woman ripped off a man’s testacle and tried to eat it and she said “Good for her!” without me even telling her about the second part. But she still assumed be deserved it even after that.

As the Men’s and …
As the Men’s and Father’s Rights Movement grows I think more and more men will come forward. Thank you so much for speaking out!

If your wife abuses …
If your wife abuses you and you hit her you will be in the shit. It is not fair.

Tbh, I wouldn’t …
Tbh, I wouldn’t flag it up too much that women are pitching in – charity and social work tends to be full of woman and it’s such a deprived issue that any help is good right now.
I think it’s a big issue, though, and worrying how difficult it is to figure out how one would get into work like that. I’m just heading off to uni so obviously I’ve got a few years left but I’ve been trying to find out how I might try to get into this line of work and it’s really hard to find any information…

It’s good of them …
It’s good of them to speak of it, but the BBC are responsible for a lot of the misandry that exists in British society, “How To Train Your Husband” being a prime example of this.
The BBC have lot of in-house mending to do before they can hold the moral high ground on this issue.

I am a victim of …
I am a victim of abuse — never physical, but always psychological and emotional. It was good to hear the first victim say how difficult the non-physical abuse can be. For me, it was horrible.

It’s reassuring …
It’s reassuring that a BBC show can actually discuss the issue in a non- man hating manner. Here in Canada, the CBC are completely feminist and cowardly and won’t touch the issue. Carole MacNeil a CBC journalist actually made a joke on air about a man who’s abusive wife handcuffed herself to him and bit bloody wounds into his arms and face,(In the call to police you could hear him screaming in pain!). Real funny eh!

Thanks for posting. …
Thanks for posting. Yes, my wife kicked, punched, slapped and threw a knife at me. She also used emotional abuse of me over the years. She also struck our small children to the head for many years before I could convince her to stop. She was very well aware that she was being abusive of me. Of course, I was there for the kids.
