No, I have never been around domestic violence..
What would I do ?
I would first speak confidentially to the person being abused…
Then, if I could help, I would do so…

If you know the abuser, talk to him and let him know how wrong he is for being like that. If you don’t know him, call the police and let them know that you suspect someone is being abused. If you can, try to call if you hear or see it happening, that way the police HAVE to arrest him. You could also find out if there is a batterers support group in your area and get the information for the guy. You should be a concerned neighbor, ALWAYS help a woman when she is being abused, they are usually not mentally strong enough to help themselves.

first of all you can get involved and give advice but if the person or persons or not willing to fix the problem. then there’s nothing you can do but report it and stand back and let the professionals handle it.

Get help for them, before its to late, and then you say I should have done something,If you try that’s all you can do,you cant force someone to get help,At the very least the police will have a record of it then If it comes down to it you can tell the family the police have been involved.

since i’m a firefighter/EMT this is pretty common for me, aboultuly be concerned for either your safety or a friends, speak in private with the person or confront the person doing the attacking. i’ve had to do this numerous times and the only time i’ve talked to the attacker was because he was in the middle of beating her when we got there, and me and my partner had to "disarm" him. but the first choice is most likely the best.
