domestic violence against men? what would you do in these situations?
Domestic violence against men is contantly ignored.
Men, what would you have done in this situation?

"His then fiancee, Michelle Williamson, punched him in the face several times, stubbed out cigarettes on his body, lashed him with a vacuum cleaner tube, hit him with a metal bar and a hammer and even poured boiling water on to his lap. That at 6ft he was almost a foot taller than her made no difference. He still has burn marks on his left shoulder from when she used steam from an iron on him. Williamson, 35, is now serving a seven-year jail sentence for causing both actual and grievous bodily harm."

"My wife punched me in front of the kids when i was driving, she said said she would cut off my fingers at night, so i went to the police. The police officer at the desk said that "Only men do the domestic violence here".

Eventually they interviewed us both, i was interviewed WITH her in the same room for 10 minutes. Then she was interviewed ALONE for 30 minutes and she told them that i has tried to strangle her. She came out with handfuls of anti – violence leaflets, they gave me NOTHING. I was lucky , they didnt arrest me !

I hasten to add, i NEVER EVER touched her(i nearly lost an eye once), and i left her several times, but there was nowhere for me to go. "

Have some all male shelters they can go to.

Jesus you’re a pu$$y.

Many feminists here seem to imply that the rate of domestic violence against men is nowhere near the rate of?

DV against women. They imply that men are much more likely to violent against women than the other way around. When others argue that DV against men is under-reported and not taken seriously, the argument is ridiculed and dismissed. With this in mind, how would you explain these statistics?

"Perhaps surprisingly, statistics have shown that lesbian people experience domestic violence at a very similar rate to that of heterosexual women (Waldner-Haygrud, 1997; AVP, 1992). It has been estimated that between 17-45% of lesbians have been the victim of at least one act of violence perpetrated by a female partner (Burke et al, 1999; Lie et al, 1991), and that 30% of lesbians have reported sexual assault / rape by another woman"

Derek-I’d be surprised if you’ve even grown any pubic hair. Back off on what you did with women, because I can promise you I’ve done more in one year than a chump like you will in a lifetime.
Oh, and my mom has been dead for 5 years, moron.

Hey Dorian, I just thought I should let you know that I f*cked your mom in the @ss last night. I’m gonna do it again tonight, wanna lick her juices off of my c*ck after I’m done?

OH and I love how you think you know my sexual history. LOL you little fruit cake bt*tch made fagget you have no idea how many girls i’ve been with.

Why is violence against men almost glamorized, hailed, or praised?

April 122011

I see this everywhere. Domestic violence against men is never an issue, if a girl kills a guy in a movie everyone claps, a man gets raped by a women no one cares and calls him gay if he reports it, etc

First of all, Jeff, a slap on the butt is a little different than a slap on the arm – it’s a lot more sexual and very degrading when it’s done in the wrong context or by the wrong person (a woman’s butt is the same as her boobs – neither are there for you to touch whenever you feel like it). Second, regarding the inequity of violence, I think most of it has to do with the unequal size, strength, and propensity toward violence. Men are physically stronger and generally larger than women. Most women who hit at full force usually won’t be able to do as much damage as when a man hits at full force. Look at when 2 men fight – they nearly kill each other and there is usually blood everywhere. Look at when 2 women fight – they grab the hair and rip clothes. It doesn’t make it right, but feasibly, if a man is getting hit by a woman, chances are he could knock her out in one punch versus her 100 punches. Regarding the rape, I’m not saying it never happens, but let’s look at the equipment needed – it’s MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more difficult for a woman to rape a man instead of the other way around (even if a woman isn’t ‘ready’ for sex, a man could still stick it in despite a woman saying no, the hole won’t just clamp shut during stress…however, there isn’t much a woman could do if a man’s member remains flaccid, and that part of a guy is very psychologically tied).

How all of this is treated in the criminal justice system is a bit different – I do agree that there is a huge inequity in the way the genders are treated. Generally, yes, a man would get arrested over a woman for domestic violence, but it’s up to the police officers to make the arrest…and most are men, and when they return to the home to check on the woman, getting a date is usually on their mind (I work around PO’s all day, I know for a fact this happens). Change the hyper-masculine mindset amongst yourselves, stop treating each other like gay is a communicable disease, and you’ll likely see the results you want. You can’t really blame society if, within your own peer groups, you’re all fighting for alpha male status – just think of how many times you called one of your male friends gay or a fag.

And if all else fails, it’s one of those double standards that likely won’t change. It’s the same with a woman sleeping with 10 guys in a week being viewed as a whore versus a man who sleeps with 10 women in a week being viewed as a God.

WHY are WOMEN the main perpetrators of violence against children?

March 222011

The US ‘National Incidence of Child Abuse and Neglect’ report in 2000 that found “where maltreatment of children led to death, 78 per cent of the perpetrators were female!

And the ‘National Family Violence Survey 2001′ in the U.S. PROVES women are just as likely to commit violence against men as men are against women.

So WHY are Men are almost exclusively portrayed as the perpetrators of domestic violence and child abuse when the reverse is actually true!!!

More profitable to demonize men.

Was I wrong for not taking a pledge to end violence against women at a UN domestic violence event today?

March 172011

While I was walking down the street to my university, some women from the Violence against women event approached me and asked if I would take a pledge to help end violence against women.

I replied by saying that I would make that pledge if they also tried to end violence against Men,Women and children(I walked away after say that off-course).

I would have done the same thing. However if they were trying to end violence against each other or simply "end violence" they would have had my full support.

Domestic Violence Against Husbands?

March 152011

I was reading a study on domestic violence in North America. In the study it said that 40 to 50% of domestic violence victims are married men, yet it rarely goes reported directly due to social stigma.

In recent years, there has been an increase of violence against men from women.

I checked the studies against a couple of sources and the numbers are correct, just to make sure because you rarely hear about his kind of abuse.

I was curious.

Why do you think there is an increase in domestic violence against married men in recent years and why do some women physically abuse men?
Here are some good links

http://www.menweb.org/battered/

http://www.oregoncounseling.org/Handouts/DomesticViolenceMen.htm

It’s not an actual increase in abuse – just an increase in reporting.
The prevalent social attitude is ‘he deserves it’ and ‘he can take it’.

When the police always arrest the man they are following the law.
The law is the ‘Violence Against Women Act’ – it >only< protects women, not men.

Are there any campaigns for domestic violence against women, for men?

March 92011

I can find heaps of foundations that help women escape from abuse, but there seems to be none for men. Do some of these foundations cater for men as well, or just for women? It seems horribly unfair that people put so much effort in for women, but nobody seems to care about men as much.

Hi, I am a male victim of 15 years of female domestic violence by my wife. I no longer tolerate the violence towards me, but, she got in first told the coppers, DOCS and the Courts so many lies, fabricated and planted evidence unlawfully, that for the last three years of not being able to see my 3 daughters other than 1 day per fortnight is insane, I have had enough. I am an ex-copper believe it or not and the way I have been treated is nothing less than disgraceful. I have an AVO upon me, court orders made so that the children now stay with her parents, not her, she is not a fit mother. I have been treated like a criminal, guilty without having given my version of events. The version given by female alleged victims is gospel, without any further investigation to clarify whether it is true or not.

I have been backed into a corner that I am currently taking action against Police, DOCS, Solicitors from Legal Aid, (I am disabled and live on a pension now) by way of a complaint to the Ombudsman, Legal Services Commissioner, Local Politicians, and I am co-ordinating a protest march on Canberra steps of Parliament House in November this year in the hope that this stereotyping, bias, and pitiful corrupt perjury stops. Some women are abusing the legal system so bad that we as men need to band together and stop it happening. Women have done it, look at what services they have.

The support for men in Australia is pathetic. Ring Mensline or Lifeline, that’s it. I had a judge finally say to me that I was a victim of domestic violence but still proceeded with an AVO against me????, I HAVE NEVER ASSAULTED MY WIFE. She said that the existing evidence in front of her forced her to enforce that the AVO be served on me for 4 years? All the evidence in front of her was lies. I was unrepresented because Legal Aid do not assist men with AVO matters I was told.

The suicide rate of Men that have been separated or divorced has risen by 48% in the last 8 years. The female copper that I approached at the Domestic Violence Support Office said she could not help me because I was male.

My ex-wife was sexually assaulted by her brother, cousin and father from the age of 5 for 12 years. DOCS placed my three daughters aged 3, 5 and 9 with her parents. Her brother visits regularly. You tell me what and how I am supposed to feel when this occurs. Hello, and because they identify as aboriginal, there is different legislation that overides other family law.

I WILL PROTECT MY GIRLS, THE LAWS WILL BE CHANGED, MEN WILL NOT BE TREATED LIKE CRIMINALS BY NARROW MINDED BIGOTS. OUR CHILDREN NEED THEIR FATHERS JUST AS MUCH AS THEIR MOTHERS.

What is the ratio of all domestic violence directed by men against women as to that of the other way around?

January 82011

Am conducting a thesis proposal and can’t make a decision yet. So please be informative as possible, if you please. Thank you!

violence from women towards men is more often unreported, so its hard to tell.

Why is domestic violence against men ignored?

December 182010

Don’t say it doesn’t happen and is only perpetrated by violent, aggressive men because it is not true. Every year, 1,510,455 women and 834,732 men are victims of physical violence by an intimate. This is according to a Nov. 1998 Department of Justice report on the National Violence Against Women Survey.

Clearly there is more women being victims of domestic violence and that is a huge issue, but more than half of the above statistics is MEN as victims, this coming from the US department of justice. So don’t say 99% of batterers are men or any bullshit without a source.

I understand that men can and usually do leave more physical damage and the efforts to help women are great and should be continued and aided even further but why do we have to do so at the expense of men? Why can’t we acknowledge both and educate the public on both so we have EQUALITY. To many victims go unnoticed because of your lack of compassion to the other sex or even your sex because your head is so far up your feminist ass.

Isn’t equality what people use to fight for?

the number for men should be higher because so much abuse against them goes unreported and the number for women should be lower because of all the false reports !

the reason that violence against men is ignored, is because society babies women
