In the film industry, why is violence against women often glamorized?

July 42011

In all horror films excluding the SAW series, women are portrayed as victims. In every action film where the lead character is a male, violence against women is at least shown more than once. Why is it glamorized so often?

Women are victims in most horror movies because men prefer horrors more than women. And men looooove mixing sex and gore. And men are usually the main character in actions because men think they’re superior. I know it sucks and it totally unfair and sexist, but it’s how it is, at least until women become most of the population and take over the world….. ya know…. lol.

Narrowing a topic for my research paper in domestic violence against women and children?

July 12011

I am trying to write a research paper on domestic violence against women and children, but confused about narrowing my topic. I want to know which way I should go with domestic violence issues against women and children and am having trouble because it is too broad. Can someone please help?

You could write about the consequences of not taking domestic violence seriously. For example, you could find an instance where a mother didn’t report on domestic abuse against her and her children and later the father killed the mother. (I know, a little dark).

Here are more examples:
